Pretty sad to hear about Rik Mayall, hey.
On Sunday afternoon, just on dusk, we jumped in the car and headed to the Eat St Markets.
Alongside the twisting river of Brisbane was a bustling little village filled with great metal boxes, colourful lights and the warm flowing scents of amazing food.
Wandering through the created streets and laneways, it became clear how hard of a decision dinner would actually be.
We finally came upon something that Jade was looking for – Duck San Choy Bow. Tucked down a backstreet, the humble store front served its soup and main dishes to the chilled people walking by.
Mission one complete and beers in hand, we continued under the setting sun to find dinner for me [sans duck and the like].
As the colours in the sky started to fade, the music and throbbing pulse of the markets got stronger and louder.
We made one final stop – arguably the most important of the night – to the Cronut stand.
Sometimes I don’t take a photo. Some moments are best just enjoyed, and dessert was one of them.
Have you been to Eat St. Markets? Have you gone back? I think I would like to go again, but with a better idea of what I want this time. Too much choice can be a burden. And then you end up ordering the sour cream and cheese pizza – delicious, but ridiculous.
